A series of durational ceremonial actiVAtions which observe concepts surrounding dreaming, spiritual interaction, ancestral veneration and the ‘VA body, the work explores the interrelationships between the pacific waters of Samoa, Aotearoa and Eora Nation. ‘Te Ao Moemoeaa’ looks to re-imagine new ‘performance spaces’ that supersede imperial and colonial narratives of the performing or performative body. Sisters of VĀ have also curated a playlist based on the themes explored in the work. Katharine and Pounamu describe the playlist as:   > “a mix of sounds that are giving indigenous, diaspora, ballroom, fafalina dj’s we love and know. You’ll find themes of resistance, joy, affirmation, ancestral frequencies, and of course moments to shake ass”.   kattymayo%20·%20Sisters%20Of%20VAA&WAA " frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media" > [Get QDP Showcase tickets](https://events.humanitix.com/queer-development-program-showcase-2026) Published 15 Jul 2026 --- [Back to News](https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog) --- ### Related news ### [![Interview with PinWen (你/他)](https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/IMG_9219.jpeg) Interview with PinWen (你/他)](https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/interview-with-pinwen-你/他) ### [![Interview with Shih-Han Chien (漢娜)](https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/QDP%20Lab%20Han.jpg) Interview with Shih-Han Chien (漢娜)](https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/interview-with-shih-han-chien-漢娜) ### [![Sisters of VĀ Playlist](https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/IMG_4142.jpeg) Sisters of VĀ Playlist](https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/sisters-of-vā-playlist) ### [![Postcard from Singapore by Rhiannon Newton](https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/IMG_1342%202.jpg) Postcard from Singapore by Rhiannon Newton](https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/postcard-from-singapore-by-rhiannon-newton) ### [![Accessibility Services Survey](https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/014_PSpaceCriticalPathChoreographicLab_DSC0828.jpg) Accessibility Services Survey](https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/accessibility-services-survey) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Performance Space", "url" : "https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/author/performance-space" }, "dateModified" : "2026-07-15T01:21:55.174Z", "datePublished" : "2026-07-15T01:21:55.000Z", "headline" : "Sisters of VĀ Playlist", "image" : [ "https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/IMG_4142.jpeg" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://news.performancespace.com.au/blog/sisters-of-vā-playlist", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://news.performancespace.com.au/hubfs/logo.svg" }, "name" : "Performance Space" } } ```
